Any free app to make calls to Canada?
I am going abroad for a couple of months and was wondering if there are any free apps to make calls to Canada via WIFI for my iPhone?

Be sure to set up Fongo before you leave Canada. You will be able to call almost any Canadian phone number for free.

So when abroad, just find a decent wifi connection and you can phone Canadian numbers for free. You can buy credits that will allow you go phone numbers that are outside of Canada quite cheaply. I believe that calls to U.S. and most European numbers are billed at 2 cents/min.

While you are not on wifi, but have local cellular data, look into Viber out - $5/mo, unlimited calls to Canadian numbers. Nice thing about this setup is your Canadian number will be displayed on caller ID of person you are calling.
