Any recommendations for a curly hair specialist? GTA (incl. Mississauga)

I'm looking for a specialized salon/stylist. I've looked at a lot of reviews on Google & Yelp, but I'm wondering if anyone on here has any experiences that they could share.

FTR, my hair is curly/frizzy, dry and over processed from years of coloring. I'm not sure of my porosity or which curl family it belongs to. TBH I've never paid much attention to those things, until I realized that maybe I should, then I wouldn't spend my life looking like a wet poodle/a bad imitation of Captain Hook (hair dries in a frizzy triangle these days).

It needs a lot of TLC and definitely a colour.

TYVMIA for all recommendations.

How thick is your hair? My curly hair is porous but is in good condition - surprisingly. But while I have had it coloured I have never had it "stripped". Unfortunately, it is all in the cut and not everyone can cut curly/wavy hair - despite being told by many hairdressers that "everyone is trained" to cut curly hair No they are not! It is like saying that everyone in a certain profession or job is equal to another.

A very good colourist is Jonathan at Pure Beauty in the ManuLife Centre in Toronto. During Covid and I am one of the ones who considers it to be ongoing, I let my hair go grey so now I have grey curly hair which I am at my age not about to colour again and go through the growing out process. Besides at my age I can live with it - but grey hair presents its own set of challenges - it is much drier and I already have naturally dry hair.

You could look at Curly Hair Salons but I expect you already have. Jonathan also cuts hair (and also has curly hair). I definitely need layers or else my hair will look like a pyramid and won't curl. One thing though is after you wash it don't comb it - unless you are at the hairdressers. And you will need to have layers put in your hair to help with the curl. I wear my hair mid length, because I have to account for the shrinkage based on wet hair and the shrinkage that occurs when the hair curls.

You will need a good leave-in cream or mousse for curly hair - cream for thick hair and mousse for thinner hair.

But I want to warn you it will not be inexpensive - it will cost you a lot - considerably more than pre Covid. And my hair grows very fast, don't know about yours.
