Anybody notice Staples doing really low in-store pricing on certain products?

I was looking for new monitors a while back (can't remember which model exactly), and saw Staples had some priced "in store only" at much lower prices than Canada Computers / Amazon.
This Black Friday I was looking for a new KB and mouse, and found Staples again has some really low prices, but not even on special, just regular price (in store only).

Examples:
https://www.staples.ca/en/Logitech-Desk ... CA_1_20001
https://www.staples.ca/en/Logitech-MX-A ... CA_1_20001
https://www.amazon.ca/Logitech-Wireless ... ords=mk710
https://www.amazon.ca/Logitech-Anywhere ... B00Y09IWGQ
http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_ ... _id=096103
http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_ ... _id=092664

Is this a ploy to get people into their stores? Those are the only examples I could find right now, but those really are good prices.
Is this a new thing, or am I just behind?

Yes they are much cheaper in store. I did the online pickup for a uniball pen that was $9.19 online, I went to the store to pick it up and it was $7.87 or something. I foolishly used the store pickup option since I thought that meant they're not in stock in store. Almost thought about doing an exchange but felt like it was too much hassle. I asked Staples to price match their in-store pricing and they wouldn't do it for me.

I believe Walmart is doing the same thing as well. Apparently it is cheaper to just stock items in store, instead of shipping them individually online.

I went to pick up some copy paper on special. There were only a few and all the packs were ripped open. YMMV..

I would think it's also to get people into the store.
HomeDepot has been doing in-store specials for a while, I noticed quite a few things in store not even shown on their website.
Maybe it's a way of fighting against all the Amazon shopping. Kinda like a Costco warehouse, you have to physically go there to find the deals.

Funny. I remember 10+ years ago, some items on their website was cheaper than in store.
