Anyone bought security camera systems from Costco?

I find the whole camera system kind of intimidating, it seems very technical. So I am edging towards Costco given their fantastic return policy.

Anyone bought security cameras from Costco, and do you find the quality decent (I am eyeing a Lorex 8 camera system)

I did. The regular old school wired type 4 cam kit with a hookup to an ext monitor vga, or hdmi out. Mine has a 500gb i think with about 2 weeks of storage. Swann Lorex and Qsee are all good. I just followed the instructions and went to their web sites. Everybody should have. My system has been fine for about 2.5 years. I reviewed a lot in the first few days then never again.

The rez and software is even better today.

thank you RxMills!

I think I'm just intimidated because I have no clue how to set it up - time to get to it. Thanks again.

It's huge piece of mind, and of course a huge deterrent.

It has cool night recording too. Everytime I hear of incidents, I wonder why everyone doesn't have one. I'd rather have no insurance along with this and an alarm system.

I know this owner of a business who bought one at Costco and claims its superb... the video also looks HD and says there's an app where he can monitor the cameras even when he's on vacation.

my one seems good but other thread said PoE system is better. Mine is analog so have to individually wire each one.

Otherwise Costco price and return policy is unbeatable!

Yup, got it on an extremely good clearance price (Lorex 4 camera) on a whim. Couldn't be without it now. Wasn't hard to set up.

Have a Poe 1080p one at one office location, it is pretty good for what you pay and we haven't had any issues with it.

The newer analogue systems provide pretty decent picture, compared to 2-3 years ago, and they are more affordable than ever. My buddy installs the costco stuff for people and he swears by them. It's not hard to set up, it's just plug and play. It's really just running the wires.

I prefer POE just cause it's newer, isn't prone to (static, ground looping), and cables are cheaper (I buy in bulk)

Yes it is. And it's old, too. It's been in place going on three years. Only problem (knock on wood) has been spiderwebs we have to get up on a ladder and brush off.

It's amazing the uses for these things you don't think of!!

Bought a Swann POE system with NVR from them in August...returned before the 90 Day grace period was up.

As soon as temp went below 0C....would freeze up/act up.

Quite annoying seeing as I paid $1080 for the system.

Costco had no issues accepting it and refunding me.

All cameras would freeze and act up? I find it hard to believe. Sounds like you put the recorder in the garage or something.
