Anyone here use a Moped in the Toronto area? Has it ever been stolen? Recommendation?

I'm looking to buy a moped, the one who you don't need a license or insurance. My main concern is not having it stolen. I will be using it during the day at public areas (restaurant, mall, etc) and it will be stored in my home garage.

For anyone who've frequently used moped in the GTA, did you have it stolen or vandalized?

Also, any recommendation on a moped under $3000?

Moped or eBike?

I would say a Moped is less likely to be stolen, but it’s Toronto so who knows LOL

An electric motorcycle that you don't need insurance or license to operate (max 32km/h speed).

Any recommendation for one with best anti-theft features like GPS?

If the thieves can steal cars in less than a couple of minutes, your ebike is a sitting duck Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes

I used to ride an e-bike almost every day in Toronto. I am very careful with it. So it was never stolen or touched by anyone else.
The Kryptonite lock is good, but a determined thief will still be able to strip any part that want that is not attached to the lock.
My rule is to never let the bike leave my sight for more than 5 minutes. I brought it onto my floor at the office when I was at work. When I go to the grocery store, I lock it with a long chain lock as close to the store entrance as possible. If I am going to a place where I can't watch my bike or lock it safely, I don't take the bike there.
My e-bike kit came with a key that will lock the electronics and disc brakes, so thieves can't ride away even if they managed to get rid of the lock. They still could carry it away, but so far hasn't happened.

Electric bikes are very light compared to a gasoline-powered vehicle.

The lighter they are, the easier it is to move them, load them into a van, etc.

Thieves even carry full size motorcycles into vans, even more so an e-bike.

However, if you park it on a public place (the street) during the day (not overnight), it is unlikely it will get stolen. Still, lock it.

I lifted a 250cc motorcycle and put into my truck alone and without the keys (my buddy had an accident, called me later) and it took me like 5 minutes. I’m sure if I wanted it done quickly, didn’t take care not to damage it, would be super quick
