Anyone knows why I’m always tired and sleepy??

I get 8 hours of sleep. I exercise moderately (once a week of biking or hiking). I eat pretty clean. Annual physical is fine according to the doctor. But I’m always low on energy recently. Any one knows why or what other tests I should run?

Use a sleep monitor app. You're probably snoring and having apnea episodes.

Exercising once a week isn't moderate - it's sedentary at best. "Eating clean" also seems suspect/subjective.

Stress and sleep are typically the culprit but it could be hormonal too. Not sure what kind of opinions and guesses you're looking for from strangers on an online forum with such limited info.

I think it's a good idea to complete a sleep study. That said, there are 'risks' involved...

I encouraged my dad to do one probably 10-15 years ago because I believed he had sleep apnea. The sleep clinic informed him he did indeed have it and needed to buy a CPAP or he'd risk losing his driver's license. We freaked out and bought one. IIRC, he said it was about $800, but luckily, work insurance covered it.

It could be related to what u eat. If u fast for most of the day, what is ur energy like? I can get really tired and/or sleepy after eating certain stuff, like bread.

I’d start with a visit to the doctor and get bloodwork done.

I find I'm the same way. I started intermittent fasting 16/8 and cut down on bread and I'm not as sleepy as I use to be. I use to have to take a major nap everyday, now no more naps.

(Not a doctor - this is just my experience and observation)

OP are you tired all the time or mostly after you eat? If it's the later then insulin resistance might be the issue. I had the same going on and it disappeared after I switched to a ketogenic diet. Best to talk to your doctor to check for insulin resistance/high blood sugar.

Same here. Why do certain carbs have to taste so good and be so comforting...why can't we get the same joy from veggies and protein damn it! Disappointed But Relieved FaceCrying FaceFace With Tears Of Joy

I'm elderly and may not have the energy I used to have, but carb foods like bread, potatoes, oats, and rice are part of my diet and I don't feel like taking a nap during the day.

Best to check with your MD again.

Do you guys read the OP? The OP said "Annual physical is fine according to the doctor." Usually it involves bloodwork.
