Anyone still want to switch to KOODO now?

As PM has changed their decision and still has the koodo offer, anyone still want to switch to koodo?
Not sure if telus will eventually kill PM and from his word : While all good things must come to an end at some point – that point is not today. Think they will do it at another time.

I pay $36 with PublicMobile. I'm definitely thinking to switch. Canada wide calling world be nice.

So would the ability to receive a sms/call while in the US without needing the roaming add-on.

Why switch to a $40 Koodo plan when they can just increase the price of this plan also? If their idea is to switch everyone from sub $40 prepaid to $40 post paid to $50 post paid...,

They have lost our trust.

Generally, Koodo doesn't increase a plan price once you have it. I know Family members who are with Koodo the past 7 years and still pay $28/mth for their plan.
Also, look at the recent Ontario plan offer, $60 for 10GB, that people were jumping on. You are locked into whatever plan you sign up for, unless you decide to change.

I am weighing the option of switching my wife's plan over since there are no referrals on hers. Secondly since she is only about 2 weeks away from renewal. Why? Here is why?

Switch to koodo and get $100 bill credit. (Possibly minus $15 sim card YMMV to get this waived)
So math is like such. (I am using 13% ON HST in calculation)

Koodo plan $41 ($46.33) ($1 extra since I will be paying $3 more for my renewal since losing her as a referral)
Koodo 3 months worth = $138.99

Public renewed for 90 days ($125.43)($120 - $6 autopay - $3 loyalty)

So it looks like this: (running total)
Public 90 cycle 1 $125.43 vs Koodo (3 Mth) $138.99 - $85 = 53.99
Public 90 cycle 2 $250.86 vs Koodo (6 Mth) $138.99 + 53.99 = 192.98
Public 90 cycle 3 $376.29 vs Koodo (9 Mth) $138.99 + 192.98 = 331.97
Public 90 cycle 4 $501.72 vs Koodo (12 Mth) $138.99 + 331.97 = 470.96
Public 90 cycle 5 $623.76 vs Koodo (15 Mth) $138.99 + 470.96 = 609.95

Public cycle 5 included an additional $3 off for another year loyalty reward. Above assumes all base plan rates and discounts all remains intact. So it would take 1.5 years on the $40 koodo plan to finally cost more than the public plan. Who knows what will happen in that time frame.

My 2 sons each have a line with PM. One will stay, but the other is moving out of province to go to school this fall. He'll switch.

i was on PM Fall offer - but switched to Bell for the $60/10GB offer.
My daughter is still with PM, but I think I will be taking advantage of the Koodo offer to get her over there.

No hijack intended....but interested in hearing from you all if you think Koodo would match my $60/10GB Bell plan so I can bring my phone over too?
Probably no chance - but Im still going to throw it out there when I go switch my daughters plan.

No dice. Price match promo's are always targetted or are market dumps AFAIK. PM will price match Freedom as a targeted offer and require porting in from Freedom. Then there's market dumps (hence the $60/10GB was BC/AB/ON only).

For the $60/10GB, stay with Bell (at least they have Roam Better now). There will likely be price increases down the road, but to get a near equivalent from Koodo will require a lot of patience and time, and even then, nothing would be guaranteed.

Currently pay 38$ per month with PM.
Thinking of taking that Koodo offer for 40 for 4gb (but only a few days before March 20th cus I paid PM $120 on feb 6th).
Anyway once I transfer to Koodo I’m going to keep that plan for a bit.
Then I’ll wait for a good deal in the 44$ plan for 5gb ($0 iPhone 8 etc) I’m going to sign for a 2 year contract.

This is an exclusive offer to Public Mobile customers who are currently on the 12GB/90 day plan. If you're not on this plan, you don't qualify for the Koodo offer. The PM plan was offered in the Fall of 2016 for a few weeks and as an incentive to Freedom customers 7 or 8 months ago. It's not available now.

I would have switched
Just didn't like the fact that they pulled this right after everyone renewed forcing us to give up 2 months

I just renewed but never got the text message.

I am planning to stay for now because I do have a few referral credits. If they do increase the price, I’ll just get a QC plan and port my number over.

I called Koodo and also asked at a Koodo store. Both reps said the PM number must be ported in during sign-up to get the $40 plan on and the $100 bill credit.

People that have migrated, can you confirm whether the Koodo plan has a tab option? I have read conflicting information on whether it's BYOD only.

What if you sign up online? I was at Bestbuy earlier today. The guy had no clue about the migration plan. He was only interested in getting me onto a virgin plan. He tells me Public Mobile voice quality sucks. I had to stop him as I was drowning in BS.

Koodo currently has the LG Q6 for $0 on a small tab with a $240 tab balance. So if you get the $100 bonus for switching to koodo, plus the $50 referral credit, that means you're only paying $90 for this phone. Is that right?

Then it also says $100 gift, is that on top of everything else, or is that $100 already included in the price of the phone?

I tried signing up on line using a spare Koodo sim and could not find a method to do it. I found that I could only enter the PM promo code after adding a sim and plan to my cart.

I called Koodo yesterday and was told that I could not get the promo plan without porting from PM during the sign-up process and I could not get it with a phone. Not sure if the rep was mistaken but I wasn't interested in a new phone.

I went to a Wow mobile dealer to ask about the port. The Wow salesperson was able to start the set up but could not enter the PM promo code to get the $40/4 GB plan so he called in to Koodo. The Koodo rep said that he could change the plan to $40/4 GB but could not add the $100 bill credit. After the salesperson ended the call, he said that the port, plan change, and $100 bill credit must be done at a Koodo-only location and recommended either Dixie Value Mall or Square 1, both of which are in Mississauga.
