Anyone subscribing to NYT Wirecutter?

I just learned that NYT decided to put Wirecutter behind a paywall. Sucks! Anyone here decided to subscribe? I think it's C$50/year. I wonder if I can get it for a lower price? Any ideas?

1. Bypass Paywalls Clean for Firefox. There's a similar extension for Chrome.

https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/ is under the NYT domain so this should work without any updates.

2. https://outline.com/

3. https://archive.ph/

4. Added:
Q: How does the subscription affect my access to Wirecutter?
A: When you create a free account, you’ll gain access to a limited number of articles each month. You'll be able to keep reading until you reach your story limit.

Presumably clearing cookies or running in private/incognito mode should address that limitation.

Are those enough ideas in lower price options?

Does your public library have an online subscription? I can access almost the whole nytimes.com site including Wirecutter though the VPL. I'm guessing your "Shanghai" location isn't real.

I never bother updating my profile. Once COVID is over, I'll be on the move again.

It is $4.52/month including taxes which works out to $54.24/year. Recipes & Games are both separate subscriptions. You can try it & see if you are getting your value out of it & cancel if not.
Insider.com has a similar Reviews & they are not behind a paywall.
