Anyone travelled to Hawaii lately in GVA?

I asked the question in r/vancouver but it got removed. Really don't know why.

We've saved a lot of points and miles during the pandemic and we really want use them since the Omicron situation is a bit cooled off. We can basically fly there and stay in a nice hotel for a week for free.

Has any of you traveled to Hawaii lately from Vancouver? Do you feel covid-safe in Hawaii (Oahu or Maui) and on the plane? Where did you get the Antigen test in Vancouver (and how $ did it cost)? Where di you get the Antigen in Hawaii (also how much $)?

Thanks!

I can't speak for the Vancouver specific parts but I traveled to Hawaii in late Oct 2021 and I felt COVID safe overall. Most of the activities are outdoors where there's less spread and while there were some crowds when I went, it's pretty easy to get away from them by just driving out of the city to the North shore or something. This was in Oahu btw so YMMV depending on which island you visit and what you end up doing.

COVID testing in Hawaii is pretty straightforward and well documented: https://health.hawaii.gov/coronavirusdi ... locations/

We went to Oahu in December, connecting flight from YVR. Our flight was packed and my daughter sat beside a gross couple who kept coughing and blowing their noses, so that made us feel unsafe during that flight segment. Hawaii was very safe and everyone wore masks.

You can google for anti gen clinics in Vancouver easily.

You’ll also be disappointed to know it’s around $80-$100 vs the $20-$40 in Ontario. Absolutely criminal that they allow this. How is it $20 in Ontario and like $80+ in Vancouver should be illegal, clear gouging.

It’s also available at YVR but pricer. Just google a clinic close to your hotel.

I went to Facebook and there are tons of Hawaii groups. Could you let us know the name of the group you are referring to?
