Flashlight App, Instant ON Dimmable Flashlight, Free for limited time, No ads

Reviews are 4.8 out of 5

Price history of the app:

This app can dim the LED flashlight of iPhone, which is quite nice.

Edit: as pointed out in Post#8, iOS has a built-in feature to dim flashlight. Deal is still alive, but set thread to expired because app is not as useful as I thought.

OK. The first vote I got is a downvote for not a good price. You expect the developer to pay you for using the app?

Did you read the post? This app can dim the flashlight, not just on and off.

You can do this on iOS without having to download an app?

I mean this is a functionally pointless app.

Also super red flag

Thanks OP for this ...it's great to have the capability to now DIM the light using the slider in the app ...works great...
I was hoping to find something like this as when I use the OS flashlight button it is always full bright....even thought iOS offers dimming...it's pre-defined stages of brightness, whereas this is a little more smoother and granular

cheers

Good to know. I was not aware of this iOS feature.

Set thread to expired as this app is not as useful as I thought.

Just because it's free it doesn't mean that you're not paying by other means... by possible data mining, app tracking, or fingerprinting. Especially for something that's built into the iPhone natively. You can access the flashlight from anywhere on the phone by pulling down and you can change the brightness, what more do you want?

See pendragon's post above for what people might want.

There is a reason why this app is well-reviewed: 4.8 out of 5 with 948 Ratings.

fwiw practically all the reviews are from before Apple finally included a native flashlight utility with iOS 7 in 2013.

There's only 13 reviews that say they are less than 7 years old, and I suspect most the ones that do say they are 7 years old will flip over to 8 years old by the time September rolls around (there's already some that do say they are 8 years old).

At least they're trying to contribute something. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but looking at your started threads, you've posted one "hot" deal before (which got 12 upvotes and 7 downvotes), while OP's posted 150+. Don't think you've earned the attitude.

You are right that most reviews are old, but some reviews are quite recent. Also, in the US app store, there are more relatively recent reviews for this app:
https://apps.apple.com/app/id379745980? ... ll/reviews

IMO this app still is a good complement to the native flashlight utility. It is able to continuously adjust the brightness, while the native one have four levels. I also like its UI.

Along with the (un-dimmable) red flags on the app, it’s developer, and the OP, nearly all “utility” apps like this are malware/spyware/tracker/etc fronts. Avoid.
