Nice upgrade. Those Beats are so saturated it's hard to sell off. Airpods should be easier to pawn off for people who don't need it.

I wonder how low AirPod prices will go.

Probably higher than Beats since they've been running that for a few years now.

By all accounts, AirPod sales seem to be huge and still growing, and with more price conscious people buying iPhone SE, they should sell easily on Kijiji.

Already have the AirPods 2, thanks to RBC. I was hoping for Beats :(

Oh well, can't complain. Need to buy a new Mac anyway, this one's 7 years old.

I'm seeing on kijiji that airpods are around 100-125 in my area while the beats solos are going for 150-200. These feel like a downgrade to me.

Damn it, should have waited a couple months to buy the new MacBook Air. With the 7x aeroplan promo and free airpod, this make it a very hot deal.

Kijiji prices don't always affect reality, people think because the Studio 3s are listed on Apple's site for $300+ that's what they're worth. Beats Studio are frequently discounted for under $200 new and I bought my Beats Studio 3 from best buy new for under $200. AirPods aren't discounted nearly as often.

They should give you the AirPods Pro for the expensive items, and normal AirPods for the cheaper iPads. IIRC it used to be you would get the Solo's with the cheap Apple products, and the Studio's with the expensive ones, but I could be remembering wrong.

You are likely looking at 1st gen or fakes.

iPad Pro with 10% discount plus AirPods for $0 or AirPods with wireless charging case for $50 or AirPods Pro for $110 + 7x Aeroplan miles is still an amazing deal in my opinion regardless of the resale value for AirPods

Not that low - they're extremely popular, extremely good, and very disposable. New airpods are easily worth $150-175 sealed. Even with a back to school promo, they're too popular to flood the market.

You can find Airpods for $100 or less, but the issue is that they're used. Since the battery is absolutely 100% not replaceable, these are essentially a disposable item. Without a working battery, they're useless.

When buying airpods, the key is that they are new or lightly used used < 1 year. Otherwise you're risking a decline in battery life.

Similarly when selling airpods, if you want to sell them, don't open the package. The other thing is that you put them in your ears, which even when cleaning with lysol wipes and stuff, was a little bit gross in the pre-covid days. Nowadays, I feel there's an extra premium on new/sealed.

So yeah, while the beats you may be able to squeeze out a tiny bit more cash at the top end, you'll probably have to work for it, and you'll probably end up haggling/settling.

Meanwhile, people are always looking for airpods, so you can just throw them online for $150 and walk away with cash later that day, or put them for ~$170-180 and you'll probably get it relatively quickly with lots of offers. They're a high demand item.
