True, but it's worth noting that XR is better in term of battery, low-light photo (which are important to some people like me :P).

Sorry forgot to reply - it was on Fairview mall

The specialist i dealt with indicated that the trade-in credit could be applied any device including ipad and iwatch contrary to what their advertisement says. My gf will go in tomorrow and trade in her iphone 6 for $150 towards the iwatch.
You trolling calling it iwatch? Lol.

As an aside, yes the Xs/Xs Max is better than the Xr. But imo the XR is a better value.

I have both an X and an Xr and the Xr definitely can hold its own. It’s a great device.

So how much does one get if they trade in a iPhone 8?

I recently picked up the iPhone XR with FreedomMobile and I am curious if I can get it cheaper with Apple. I still have some time to return the phone.

The sales person did up 2 x $150 gift cards and applied them to the purchase. Probably could have got more private sales of the iPhone 6 - but the convenience right up front sold me. Going from iPhone 6 16GB to XR 64GB is a pretty good upgrade for me.
It looks like it changes from store to store. The employee went to ask the manager if I could trade 2 phones and said no... To be fair mine were 64 and 128 GB and they still give you only 150.

How does the XR take better low light photos if the larger camera is exactly the same as the XS?

Why is there so much discrepancy between Apple stores?
The official page has lower trade-in values. Where did the OP get higher values to begin with?

Hey guys, I just picked up an iphone Xr from the Apple store. When I trade in my iphone 7 plus (128GB) they gave me 380 TIV which is 75$ more compare to the website evaluation. They also mention that I don't need to use the gift card right way. The location is Fairview Mall Apple store.

Just got back from Fairview. Traded in two phones; 6s and 6s plus. $480 credit ($230+$250). Traded up to the XR 128GB in red. In and out in 20ish minutes. Not bad for the store being as busy as it was.

it only applies in portrait mode because the xr uses the only lens it has (the single big one), while the xs in portrait mode uses the telephoto lens, which is the PROPER focal length for portrait shots. but this secondary lens is also smaller, so it technically lets in less light.

personally i'd rather have 2x optical zoom then better portrait mode in low light.
