Was hoping to order an Apple TV today and then use the gift card for an Apple Watch, but now I'm worried the GC might not arrive in time before the sale ends?
YMMV, but I ordered HomePod at 10:57 PM last night and got the shipment notice at 2 AM today and gift card at 5:30 AM.

Thanks. Just submitted an order for an Apple TV. Fingers crossed that I receive the gift card in time to submit another order for an Apple Watch.

I bought two HomePods on Friday and got the gift cards a few hours later and before I was able to pick up the HomePods in-store. I just used both gift cards to buy another HomePod as a gift.

I went through airmilesshops both times. On Friday, they offered 10X Airmiles and today it's 15X Airmiles. I'm going to hold on to the new gift card to buy a mac next year. I've been waiting for quite some time for a deal like this. So I basically spent about $800 (tax incl.) for three HomePods, which is a 40% discount!

No AM to be gotten when buying iphone 12...according to fine print.

Sounds right, since your are charged for the gift card, they are lowering the cost of the item purchased.

Apple Store app, apple.com/ca, and 1-800-MY-APPLE: Customers who purchase an Eligible Product through the Apple Store app, apple.com/ca, or 1-800-MY-APPLE during the Promotion Period shall receive a discount equal to the value of the Promotion Product (depending on their purchase, as set forth below) off the price of the Eligible Product. Customers will be charged for all items in their cart, including the Promotion Product.

Answered in the Terms & Conditions

Returns and exchanges are subject to the policy of the Qualifying Location where the purchase was made. The Apple Store Gift Card received with the purchase of an Eligible Product must be returned with such Eligible Product in order to receive a full refund for that purchase. If the Apple Store Gift Card is missing, is not returned or has been redeemed, the full original value of the Apple Store Gift Card will be deducted from the exchange or refund of the Eligible Product.

I wonder this too, and I don't know for certain, but the way the way I saw the transaction appear is with a +$X GC and a -$X credit, so they will probably refund only the item you return and charge back the GC amount if you don't return it in full? Can't imagine the greediest company on the planet would allow you to get away with free money.

Have air miles posted for you?
First time shopped through airmilessops, there seems no trace at all.

Fine print on the Airmileshsops website says, “Bonus Reward Miles will be posted to your Collector Account within 75 days.”

Unfortunately, you have to keep track of the Air Miles you are accumulating around this time of the year as they are very slow to post. I write down all the Air Miles I accumulate for November and December as I tend to accumulate most of my Air Miles at this time.

Got one of my giftcards emailed, but unfortunately not in time to use for another order while the promo was still active. Does anyone know how to use these gift cards for apple subscriptions like iCloud or Apple One?

No, according to the terms and conditions
https://www.apple.com/ca/legal/giftcards/applestore/ca/

Maybe they were confused with the USA version, which they call "Apple Gift Cards"
https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-se ... terms.html

"You can use your Gift Cards to purchase content, apps, and services (collectively, “Content”) from Apple Media Services and items (“Products”) from Apple Retail Stores, Apple online stores, and the Apple Store App. If you are the holder of an App Store and iTunes gift card or code balance, or have a balance in your Associated Balance, you can now use the card and code balance and the Associated Balance to purchase Products as well as Content."

You can sell it.

Apple does not provide wall charger anymore, just the cable.

I just don’t understand the reasoning behind that. They think we want to pay more for less in 2020?

They really patronize their customer base and I don’t know if I should be mad at them or the gullible people who capitulate.

I was at the apple store at Fairview mall this past weekend and I noticed a very distinct behaviour from their staff. They have a really militant way to retail. I just seemed so called and sterile to me.

Ok I will admit their new m1 products are really compelling. I am intact in their ecosystem because it’s simply better than what windows or android has to offer but man, to say their retail experience leaves a lot to be desired would be an understatement. All the people that shop there are like cultists.

I ordered a HomePod as well because after the $140 “discount” it is a pretty compelling deal to pass up considering how good they sound. There is a lot of technology packed into that thing but at $399 I wasn’t going to hire but $260 ? Sure. They have me a January ship date though. Their accessories are insane. An Apple Watch band is $60. Are you kidding me?

homepod with $140 is a good deal for what you get in terms of hardware. I have one from last year and was thinking that I might want to make it a pair, but then I thought....I'm not buying anything more until they unlock the device to handle third party services like Spotify. Not getting as much use out of it as I thought.
RFD is not just about saving money, it's about the thrill of the hunt and getting the stuff I want without paying full price like Joe Shmoe did.
This applies to everyday items as well as high end items that I don't really need.

Homepod for $140 off was a no brainer for me. I already have 2 and added another one. Comes out to $259 which is pretty on par for the best US price ($199) ever.
