Apple Canada Launches New Gift Card for 'Everything Apple' (iTunes Gift Card can be used for Apple Store hardwares)

American Express Platinum Card currently has 10 bonus points for every $1 in purchases in grocery stores (up to 50,000 points) offer. It is a good time to reload some.

Costco stopped selling iTunes Gift Cards was a kind of hint that the new apple universal gift card was around the corner.

Today, I found that iTunes (App Store) can be used for apple hardwares in Apple Store.

In the past it was very hard to get a discounted Apple Store gift card. Now, iTunes Gift Card can be found in almost all stores.

Do you know when this was this implemented by Apple Canada?
And is it retroactive to any iTunes gift cards one may currently own or purchased in the past?

I'm looking at a gift card from Aeroplan rewards:
iTunes Gift Cards can be used ONLY to purchase goods and services from the iTunes Store, App Store, Apple Books, for an Apple Music subscription, or for iCloud storage.

I believe it was just implemented by Apple Canada this morning.
Same as US did last year, all iTunes and Apple Store GC are combined into one account:"Apple Account Balance".

All my old iTunes gift card balance automatically became "Apple Account Balance".
I just redeemed an iTunes gift card purchased last month, it was automatically added to my "Apple Account Balance".

When did Costco stop selling iTunes cards? I didn't notice honestly and was waiting for another sale to happen sometime soon but it hasn't in awhile.

Damn, we had a good run with the mostly 20% off iTunes GC at Costco. Sad to see it end.

Thanks for heads up OP.

We did have an idea this change was coming. Shame on us for not stocking up on 16% off or whatever the most recent Costco sale was.
