looks like Apple isn't offering the GC on the new iPad. GC is only on Mini, Pro and Air. I added them separately to cart to verify.

So the apple store gift card can be used to purchase stuff from the physical store?

Only $35 on the Series 3 which doesn't even cover AppleCare+ sooooooooo I guess we wait. Might just get the 5 after Christmas even if there's no deal.

Was debating the iPad Pro 11 inch and saw that they have refurbished models for $849.

Well. You'll most likely need a pen and or kb.
You're just as good getting the new one with 140 off. Only $10 more than the refurb and no wait time today.
You can prob use the $140 credit to Applecare+ if you don't need a kb and or pen. I'd say it's a must since it has 2 accidental incidents @49 a pop

yeah that sucks. I was waiting for this sale to get the 16" MBP. Oh well, the Education discount is pretty much the same as the gift card value ($250 off vs 280 GC). I just wished I didn't wait and pulled the trigger on the staples 15% off coupon that was floating around last night. A few people got the 16" MBP before staples shut it down.

Hmm... I think getting ones from Costco with free Applecare will be a better deal.

Staples' web store and promotions teams really aren't on the ball, are they?

This is the second time this week where a coupon could be applied when they claim afterwards that it shouldn't have (10% on the Airpods Pro on Wednesday, and apparently 15% last night on MBPs). They're costing the company in both money (if they honour the coupon), as well as customers if they cancel orders before they're delivered/picked up.

FYI - I called in to apple support and confirmed that you CAN NOT apply the gift card to Apple Care and Apple Care +

That's a lie. You can buy it after the fact and you can use gift cards to pay for AppleCare.

They literally tell you to do that in-store.
