Just not worth it IMO. Can spend a few extra bucks and get M2

Op's price is $1059. Adding "a few extra bucks" will still make it under $1100.

In fairness, it’s just a phrase. “A few extra bucks” is subjective based on the person’s financial ability.

On my scale of things, a few bucks could be $3-$200, but after my bills come in it’s more like $3-$20 Face With Tears Of Joy

Then it's "a few hundred bucks". Who says "a few extra bucks" meaning $200-300 extra???

M2 equivalent is 1829 before tax and apple care. That's essentially twice the price for a slightly faster processor. The m1 is already a ridiculous powerhouse.

Just so you guys know, these iPads suffer from a defective digitizer that causes a phantom touch issue. Both mine and my wife's iPad pro are affected by this. It's super annoying to the point that it ruins the experience for me.

I’d definitely get this if it was the M1, this comes with the A12Z though.

Just received my 11” Pro M1 refurb. $849. Loving it and immediately forgot it was a refurb once I started using it. Awesome savings.

Rookie mistake, for a "few extra bucks more" you could've got a M2 bro. (Full disclosure I mean $250 more).

The difference between M1 and M2 is not significant, but 4th gen A12Z and M1 12.9 pro, the difference is huge (including mini-LED screen, ram, and software support (e.g stage manager)).

I see many people on rfd often has the following arguments:
1. Time machine.
2. Find me a deal right now that is lower than x

Deals come and go, and you also find tricks here and there.

Coming back to this iPad deal, z12 is a bit old now, and m1 is so much better, but let’s be honest here that iPadOS is iOS, it is not macOS, it can only do the freaking basic stuff that z12 is still enough today, if you can get m1, I would be aiming at m1 to begin with. If money is an issue, don’t buy it now, buy it when you have enough money.

Second, Apple back to school is the best deal, plus the mall 150$ back when u buy 1000$ gift card. So wait till you buy the gift card and use it during back to school deal, it will give you easily 25% off in the latest iPad Pro, or a couple hundred off.

If you have to buy it today, then go ahead any deal is better than no deal, however z12 in 2023 for 1000 is not that great deal anyway.

I bought a 12.9 Pro gen 3 refurb a few months back and it’s been great. What I’m curious is what people are doing with these things that necessitate a M1 or M2 processor.

Exactly!

If people don’t need M chips, then storage is more important. This is a solid deal.

Almost 2 years ago, I bought gen 3 12.9 iPadPro 256Gb cellular for under $900 (before tax), totally happy.

What exactly is the phantom touch? Does it auto select stuff on the screen?
