Factory seconds can be pretty damn good. It's something cosmetic. Like a tiny spot that is off black in a totally black jacket. You need to know where to look, otherwise you'd never know. Stitching is another one, where it might be off center. The garment is say, still water proof, but not perfect.
You're getting a super functional jacket for cheap, worth it IMO. Go, and you might find something amazing.

Last year, i went on the later days with the additional % off. I actually didn't see many factory seconds, saw way more samples. Might have to go early for the seconds?

Picked up an Atom Hoody for $150 after taxes.

it's going to be a huge lineup. PPL here loves to line up for anything.
Previous samples accept debit and cash.

You have to be early to get the good stuffs or the Chinese people will buy lots of it and resell it in China as brand new.

Half price? That is pretty good. I bought mine 3 years ago. Started pilling. Went to the store and ask for a repair ( I was planning to pay up to $50). 3 weeks later, no reply from anyone so I called them.
They offered to give me a free replacement. Love theirs after purchase customer service.

I think it ended up being a bit more than 50%. I really love the Atom. Haven't had piling though, I have another about 3 years old, did have a hole in the wrist area from rubbing against my desk, but I just patched it myself.

But I also had an Alpha SV I bought from liveoutthere. It delaminated all over the place within 2 1/2 years, maybe 60 wears total. I sent it in for RMA. They said pick anything of the same value or less on their website. So I just picked up my new replacement beta SV since the alpha SV colours were trash for both the summer and winter collections (women's). What happened to a plain old black, damn, instead we get bright as hell colours. But very nice service indeed.

maybe you can do the same for the Atom. My friend had the Alpha completely ripped and they were able to give her a brand new one ($1200)Value

I can get a brand new Beta AR for $429 shipped now. Do you think I can get it much cheaper at the sale?

For those planning to go. Will you transit or drive? Parking is not cheap around there and it will add to the cost of whatever you will be getting. You will take a lost if you leave empty handed if you pay for parking.

If you ignore the cost of lining up you might be able to find something cheaper. I got the Fission SL a few years back for $350 when MSRP was something like $750-800?

I never been to one of these sales. Can someone tell me the price range for the sale prices? Like what price range do the jackets start at? $60 and up? Or are we looking at a higher ball park range like say $150 and up? Thanks.

For a decent gore tex, you're looking at higher, at least $200, if not closer to $300. Which is still essentially more than 50% off their MSRP for some jackets.

Live Out There is clearing out their stock. Not sure what they have left, but worth having a peek first.

On the add, it says that extra %10 OFF on Sunday and Monday which is the case for pretty much all the sales so far except the last one happened at Convention Center. At the last one, the extra discount was %40 the last day and %30 the day before and as long as I remeber it wasn't advertised such. Hopefully it'll happen this time too.

I went there the last day and got so many stuff at 40%. No Goretex Jackets was left but pretty much all the other stuff were available.

Was looking forward to trying this out. Apparently Daily Hive made a post - now everyone and their mom will be there. Sigh.

Anyone know how busy these Arcteryx's sample sales are?

I'll be in Vancouver for the weekend but traveling with family so can't be in line for a couple of hours

First two days will be pretty busy and get slower. First two days, I'd say at least 2 hours of waiting.

Strolled in last time on the first day around 3pm and there was no line. A decent amount of people inside browsing, etc, but no line up to pay either. I think the mad rush will be first thing in the morning when everyone is jostling for the factory 2nds.
