Highly rated by whom? I've never heard of this brand. How can it be highly rated?

"If it sounds too good to be true..." and "You get what you pay for".

Might not be total garbage, but expect caveats and cut corners. 10 year warranty may not be worth the paper its printed on if the CS sucks or doesn't exist, and if the "company" disappears in that time.

Lots of paid promotion reviews are just one red flag, amazon is really bad for this. I wouldn't touch it unless there's a thorough teardown review from trusted reviewers that review power supplies (JohnnyGuru, HardOCP, Anandtech etc. If you can't find reviews for it I would avoid it.

I'd ignore that warrantee; I doubt it's worth much. After that, you're looking at a cheap 750w power supply. If your computer actually needs 750w, chances are there are some pretty expensive components inside. I'd spend the extra $40 to give those parts the best chance of not being obliterated by a basic PSU.

Seems to be a decent brand. Several people on this forum said they use one and it works great for them. Here is a reddit thread, where some guy claims to have checked the internals on one of them - https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/ ... 9_650w_80/

Personally, I would trust the higher end PSU of this brand, more than a cheapo supply by EVGA/Antec/etc.

I have a GAMDIAS PSU in my machine and it is now nearly 3 yrs old. Works excellent.

Yea, without proper reviews no one can really tell you if it is good or not. Even power supplies from big brand names can be duds. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be reviews from tech websites. Though from what I gather it's an OEM trying to go into retail with this brand name.

Also depends what you are trying to power. If you've got a real expensive video card then you might as well spend a bit more for a well-reviewed unit.

Reminds me of this tech Youtuber that thought a Channelwell power supply was bad because he has never heard of it.

This one looks like EVGA to me, the branding, color pattern etc.

I don't see any logical connection between what I wrote and your response. Besides, how many "highly rated" things did you miss in your life by never hearing of them while being your hobby? I bet none.

$60-80 for a 750w 80+ gold is just to cheap should be more like $100-150

Top Amazon PSU Falsely Claimed 80 Plus Gold (But It Didn't Explode) - AresGame AGS850

We bought one of the best-selling power supplies on Amazon, the AresGame AGS850 80 Plus Gold, and found it doesn't meet the requirements of 80 Plus Gold. It didn't explode, though!

The AresGame AGS850 is one of the cheapest 80 Plus Gold power supplies on the market -- but the "80 Plus Gold" is in name only, and the manufacturer knows it. There are some upsides, however, like the PSU's protections passing our testing in a non-Gigabyte-like fashion and the PSU generally working and being cheap-ish -- but it certainly isn't an 80 Plus Gold unit. This power supply is among the top PSUs on Amazon for a gaming PC, and is one of the best selling "80 Plus Gold" ATX PSUs. As such, we wanted to buy it and see if it's any good. There are some upsides and some downsides alike, landing us in more traditional review territory with a lot of educational and informational background to learn more about PSUs. It was odd to do this one, since the manufacturer didn't fight us when we emailed and instead said it realized its "mistake" (if it wasn't intentional) and began reverting its advertising to simply "80 Plus" -- but it still retains the pagerank, and that's not good.
