Artwork and Copyright Infringement

If I use this photo (for example) and replicate it on a canvas (100% identical) then sell it. Can I be sued by the creators of Overwatch?

I'm curious because I see people selling artwork with sports team logos, Marvel, DC comics for example without much issues.

Yes, I believe you can be sued for that. You might just get a "cease and desist" type letter to begin with, you might get sued for damages.

Just because other people are doing it doesn't mean they're continuing to get away with it. Companies start up and shut down regularly. And you have to get noticed and tracked down before you can be sued. Doesn't mean it won't happen to you.

No problem. I'm not a lawyer, and haven't played one on TV.

As the one article suggests, talk to the copyright holder and see if you can get permission.
