Asian markets - why are most vegg / fruit on trays??
Is there a legit reason to be doing this? I find it extremely weird practice. I dont want to buy 15 cucumbers, I just want a few. Again, what would be the reason behind doing this?

Do you mean like on trays and saran wrapped, so forcing you to buy that quantity?

Costco concept. If they can do it, why not . I sometimes wonder who can eat like 5+ lbs of bananas (Costco)

Walmart tends to do the same practice. Went to pick up just a small amount of ginger last week and they were only selling it packed in nets of at least 2-3 pounds! Had to go somewhere else to be able to get it in loose to the amount I was only needing.

I think it's to prevent ppl from picking and likely reduces waste as it's harder to discard the not so pretty ones. It's why you see some stores "wrap" bananas (no broken legs leftover), grapes in bags etc.
We're all bozos on the bus until we find a way to express ourselves...

Fair enough, but why not even give an option? In the same bin, have the same item just lose and charge more?
