I just read that Merlin doesn't support AI Mesh. Did you switch back to ASUS fw?
Yes, not concerned about TM data collection

OK, believe it or not, 17 years later the parents are still using WinXP. My sister has bought this router to help boost the signal to their 3rd floor. I don't think it will matter but she has looked on the Asus site and it claims support for Win7 and up. Any idea why it would matter after initial setup? Yes, we have tried to get them to ditch XP, it isn't likely to happen any time soon. They are running the Asus 66U right now BTW.

I also got BB to price match the On Saturday plus an additional 3 percent off. I was lucky as they only had the 1 left which I picked up.

Routers aren't OS dependent (I did the setup on mine from my Ubuntu machine). While I would certainly never want to connect any of my own devices to that network if it's got an internet-connected XP box on it, they should have no trouble with the router itself.

Got a shipping confirmation email last night and a cancellation email this morning. What a waste of time.

Another question on the router:

I know you can connect a micro SD to USB port for sharing files.

Can I use a SSD card with an USB adaptor as the storage? Do I need power to adaptor in order for it to work?

Mine was the other way around. Got a cancellation email last night, and then a shipping email this morning. Staples can't even get their damn logistics right. In this digital age, how the frack do you sell more than you have?

By not having real time inventory tracking, of course.

As a test for streaming over Wi-Fi, I hooked up a 2.5" USB hard drive to my 68u running Merlin and I was able to play a movie from the usb drive with Kodi. No power adapter was needed. The 86u should work the same way as the 68u is even older.

got mine delivered today, all configured and running well!

For those that missed out on this Staples deal, the next best deal is Best Buy and they still have them on sale until Thursday. I was at my local Best Buy on Sunday and they must have had between 10-20 of these on the shelf still.

anybody who didn't get their orders cancelled and got shipping notification that got theirs shipped? I do not recall receiving any tracking information.

I got confirmation that my order will be delivered on Monday, December 3rd. Yesterday they had a couple available for purchase with a note stating that the stock wouldn't arrive until November 30th, so December 3rd makes sense. You might have to wait a few more days before they get stock to fulfill backorders.
