Asus Motherboard AAFP Audio Adapter Front Panel connector TO Motherboard issue

Hey Friends

I've got an issue connecting my front panel audio from my chassis to my motherboard. The Audio cable from the Chassis is too big for the AAFP audio header on my ASUS X570-i motherboard.

After doing some searches, I found that there was an adapter in the box, but sadly, I have misplaced or thrown it out. Wondering if anyone can tell me what this cable is called and if I can purchase a replacement? I've attached an image of the problem.

I've checked CanadaComputers and NewEgg, but can't find the correct search term.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Umm, they are the same size. Both are 10 pin connectors from what I can see.

The manual calls it the " AAFP extension cable" . From the looks of it it shouldn't be proprietary. What case are you using ? Make sure that's the correct connector for front audio and not anything else like the front panel buttons or USB2.0 connectors or any RGB/Fan hub thing.

Is this what you're looking for?

You guys are right, they are both 10 pin connectors. The spacing on the plug is much smaller on the motherboard though. I've been searching, and it does look like the extension in the box does convert it properly.

@Canuck_TO I don't think that's it. The spacing appears to be the same on that cable.

It is indeed the connector for the front panel audio. Case has a different connector though. My searches lead me to posts where Asus included the cable in the box which converts the larger plug to the smaller plug.
The case is a Lian LI Q58.

May possible I'm Mistaken but don't think so.

Guess you're not the only one with this issue ? Reddit link: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comme ... r_problem/

If you can't located an official asus one, perhaps you can try one of those solo jumper wire extensions that people use for Arduino project boards? But might run into same issue where the header is not the correct size since its smaller? Amazon Link to example : https://a.co/d/hi2E2XV
But maybe there's enough plastic for you to file down a bit?

Perhaps email asus tech support ? Or just goto Canada computers /memory express if they have any spare parts bins from returned/dead/parts boards

Thanks coilz. Yes. I've found a few threads where people have the same issue and that's one of the threads that lead me to believe the AAFP extension cable in the box is the correct cable.

I'll try Canada computers as you suggested...or I'll just go without front panel audio. Thank you
