[Best Buy] ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15.6" Ryzen 7 4800HS/512GB/16GB/1660ti $1399/RTX 2060 $1599

Good alternative for those looking for AMD Ryzen 4000 series processors with dedicated gpu. Don't know if they are better than TUF 15 in terms of cooling. Hopefully they come with better screen.

Thanks OP. Seems that they have gotten more stock of the 1660 Ti version. Has anyone found stock of the 2060 version anywhere in Canada?

Looking for one as well! At this point might as well wait for other options with similar specs :(

I think this is a pretty decent price, its got the new 4800h ryzen chip with max q 1660ti. Slim design and can game too. 144hz but I heard the screen is not the greatest, there's a 240hz version with rtx 2060 max q on sale for $200 more but sold out at the moment.

Just picked up this Zephyrus G15.

Just posting my findings compared with the previous Zephyrus M deal - hot-asus-rog-zephyrus-m-gu502gu-xb74-ga ... 9-2368485/

Build quality is about the same between the two.

CPU performance is better on the G15 with the Ryzen 4800HS with two extra cores and four extra threads vs. the i7-9750H, but the GPU in the G15 is the Max-Q variant of the 1660TI. GPU performance is about 20% less compared to the Zephyrus M, which has the full 80W 1660TI.

Screen quality is much worse on the G15. Screen is 144Hz, but the max brightness is low and colours look washed out.

Keyboard layout is the same. No RGB backlit keys, only white backlit LEDs this time around. Also no red light up logo on the lid, perfect.

For about the same price, the previous deal was much better due to the screen and GPU, but this one is probably the best deal you can find right now if you're looking to get a laptop this minute.

I am going to play around with this one this weekend and decide if I'm going to return it after. I'm a bit disappointed in the GPU performance as I didn't know it was the MQ variant. Will probably hold out for the G14.
Brown ahead for Bure. Bure going in.. he scores! Pavel Bure has won it for the Vancouver Canucks! It's a triple overtime hat-trick for Vancouver!

Problem is no manufacturer is making any AMD laptop with anything higher than a RTX 2060 at this point. Hopefully soon we will get some 2070 Super Max-Q at the very least but for now? Nothing.

To me it feels like the manufacturers are pairing these AMD processors with weaker GPU's so that they can charge more for the Intel offerings to improve margins. It's a shame .

I’m desperately looking to DIY a Mini ITX Ryzen 2060/2070, but with laptops going at this price point, I’m so tempted to pick one up and plug a monitor..

The current markup on computer components is absolutely insane

Both are Max-Q versions by the way if anyone was wondering.

Something like this might work out for you and would definitely give you much higher gaming performance than the Zephyrus G15 - https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/rsgcDx

The Node 202 is pretty much one of the smallest mITX cases on the market that can be easily purchased from a brick and mortar. If you want something larger, your next bet is the NZXT H210 and the Fractal Design Nano S, although those are a bit closer to 30L in volume compared to the Node's 10L.

Personally, I'm a fan of the sandwich style cases like the Louqe Ghost and its cheaper knockoff the Nouvolo Steck. Pictures of my build in both cases. https://imgur.com/r/sffpc/qx4znLg - https://imgur.com/a/HjOYrh9
