Saw this earlier this morning. My membership expired last month and figured I wait for black friday. For some reason when I went through the app it showed up for a few dollars more, but when I did a search through Google it came up as the 66% off. While not the cheapest I have seen it go, at this price I'll take it.

I subscribed to The Athletic on a whim earlier this year when there was a $18ish deal and I must say that I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I've enjoyed it. Very good quality writing and analysis. Not sure if I would pay full price for a subscription, but definitely worth it on a deal like this.

Any existing subscribers have luck extending their subscription with these deals?

I hesitated with The Athletic at first, but I'm actually very happy with my subscription. Top tier journalists, non click-baity articles, exclusive interviews, etc. Worth it if you're a serious sports fan who enjoys sound journalism. Not so worth it if you just need quick updates on injuries, signings, scores etc.
