Audio setup for working from home

Like so many people, I'm remote working now. Currently, I'm using my notebook as is - no external monitors, docking stations etc, which means that my laptop screen is open and my speakers and mic are exposed. This actually works great for conference calls, as I essentially have a speaker phone. If I need to switch to a headset, such as when I'm a more active participant on a call, I just plug in my headset into the 3.5 audio jack and everything going through the headset (external speakers cut out automatically).

But once I connect the computer to my dock, so that I can work on external monitors, keyboard etc, the notebook is closed, which means I lose my "speakerphone" setup. Are there any external speakers with mics that include a 3.5 mm jack, and will automatically cut out when the headset is plugged in?
