August / Smartthings / Wyze Automation Is This Possible?

I have a setup that works reasonably well now but I'd like to bring it to the next level.

Currently, when I leave my house, I press a button that, using SmartThings and IFTTT, turns on my Wyze cameras and announces that they're on. When I return, I press a button and it turns off the cameras.

I have an August Smart Lock Pro installed with a keypad outside.

The August app logs who opened the door based on the code entered on the keypad. SmartThings monitors lock status but doesn't receive the detailed info from the keypad and August app. What I'd like to do is to use the keypad information to turn the cameras off thereby bypassing the need to push the button..

What I'm wondering is whether it's possible using a macro app such as Tasker or Microtasks to trigger the button push based on specific words in the August notification so that it won't be necessary to push the button when I arrive.

The August app also logs when someone leaves and locks the door from the keypad but that could be problematic as someone else could be home when someone leaves. Presence based on the phone location won't work as not everyone has a phone on all the time.

If you are using SmartThings to turn the cameras on and off, you should be able to add a condition to trigger when someone enters the house

I can trigger based on when when the lock opens and closes. However, I want to turn off the cameras only when certain people enter and not others. For example, I don't want the cameras to turn off when the axe murderer enters but I do want to turn them off when I or my wife or my kids open the door.

Other than your family, no one else should have a code to the lock.

Does SmartThings track the pin codes or just opening and closing?

Problem is the August lock is wifi based and it's communicating with Smartthings through the cloud. So it's abilities are limited. You really need a z wave based lock so that
Smartthings can talk to the lock directly.

The OP's lock does support zwave. But neither the lock nor the keypad sends the specific userid through zwave. This lock only sends lock status, locked/unlocked, and doorsense status, open/closed, over zwave. I have this lock and have it integrated with OpenHab using zwave. I don't use the wifi connect module nor the Bluetooth keypad.

August tracks pin codes but doesn't pass it ST. The notification it on the phone has all the info nec essary to identify who opened the lock.
That's why I wonder if something like Tasker can fill the gap.

Another possibility is that I have Alexa and Google Home connected to the August lock. When I open the front door, Alexa announces that the door is open. As for the Wyze cameras, Alexa announces when they've been turned on or off. I also receive a Google Hangouts message on my phone when the camera is turned on or off.

Each of those aspects could possibly contribute to the automation.
