B450 mATX/ATX Motherboard for Ryzen 5 3600

Which decent motherboard around the $100 price range for a Ryzen 5 3600 with some future OC capability? I'll be purchasing from either Memory Express or Canada Computers, so they can update the BIOS for me. Thanks!

I bought an ASRock Steel Legend.
Probably doesn't OC well since it's a $100 board.

EDIT: Changed my mind. I'm going MiniITX.
Plus for some reason I didn't think any AMD based board would ever have Intel for Ethernet but I was wrong so it's going back.

Is it free bios update they do?

I believe I heard the rep saying today it’s $50 or something.

Thx. I'll get my mobo off amazon hoping it won't need bios update

You probably will need a bios update. I got Asus B450i and Gigabyte B450 Pro Wifi both from Amazon and needed to get a bootkit from AMD for both

Did mine at Canada Computers and they wanted $20 with an hour turnaround.
I was going to buy a 200GE so I could do them myself, but I figured I'm not going to build 4 Ryzens in a short period of time.

Hmmm $20 is better and maybe I didn't hear it probably. By the way, this was at the Richmond Hill store.

This was Burnaby for me.
Might be YMMV since when I called, they had to ask the tech.
Call in and find out if you (or OP or whoever) is curious.

Pretty sure it's YMMV. You need to buy both the mobo and CPU from CC, and pay $20-50. My store wanted 50

Hey guys, I've been trying to decide between the ASUS B450-i or the X470 for my 3800x. I know the ASUS X570-i is around the corner, but I think it's going to be $300+.
I've been researching the main differences on B450, X470 and X570 and I'm already confused. I know it's mostly iO changes and PCIe 4.0 and USB 3.1 gen2 improvements (X470 to X570), but do I really need an X470/X570 board? I've read tons of articles and watched tons of youtube on these chipsets and I'm still confused....

I'm coming from a i7-4790k and ASUS Z97 mobo so jumping to AMD for my new build.

This is pretty much a gaming/HTPC setup connected to my living room tv. I don't plan to overclock.

Can anyone provide some advice on which chipset?
Thanks!

Here's a suggestion:

Set up a group BIOS FLASH where one person requests the boot kit and say 5-10 people can use it to flash BIOS before shipping back to AMD. I'm not really into setting up these things , but a bunch of people needing to flash their BIOS can go this route.

I did end up buying from CC, but when I phoned them for a quote for just flashing they had no way of knowing that.
So it's probably YMMV based on location not purchase.

I wonder how long it'll take AMD to ship.
This isn't a bad idea but between shipping, 10 days to actually flash everyone, and coordinating people, it's easier (for me anyway) just to pay $20 and get it done in an hour today rather than wait X days and potentially go to a location much farther away than my closest CC.

a lot of my friends suggested MSI B450 Tomahawk, but it might exceed your budget

just watched a video and apparently there were some problems with the tomahawk board. I went with ASUS strix b450-i because I like 2 x m.2 slots and inc. WiFi with antenna
