Back up power batteries?

I have a back up power battery something like this
https://www.costco.ca/APC-Back-UPS-Pro- ... 16110.html
but it was from 10 years ago. hasnt been used for at least 5 years. so i presume the battery is probably dead? is it possible to DIY buy a compatible battery and replace it myself?

Should be ask easy as opening the compartment and swapping out battery.

If you list the exact model you have, you can usually find the proper battery for your unit. APC only has a few different batteries for all their models.

If the one listed in your original post is not accurate, we can’t help you.

Before ordering anything, just open up the UPS and remove the battery. On the battery itself, there will be a part number from the manufacturer and more often than not that part number will cross reference to a generic part which is much cheaper than the original part but will work just fine.

The basic specs seem to match up with what you stated. Check the measurements as well as the battery terminal types.
