Barcelona Transit (Subway) system: Anyone Use?

As the title states. Is it safe? Good value? Convenient from/to the Barcelona Airport?

Safe? Yes
Good Value? Yes seemed like it when we went in 2016
Convenient? There are a lot of transfers required to get to the city centre. I found the Aerobus to be more convenient and cheaper.

Thanks for your feedback.
Will look into the Aerobus. Hopefully it stops close to the Hotel I'm staying at.

Barcelona metro is safe and convenient. Although from the airport, I agree with taking the Aerobus. I believe a one-way is under 5 euros and it stops at Plaza de Catalunya.

We used the airport bus, got off at placa catalunya and walked 15 mins to our hotel. There was two of us so more economical to take the bus.

Also took taxi from airport to Sants train station area. Around 25€. Well worth the money cuz there was 4 of us. Saves a lot of time and effort carrying luggages up and down stairs

The subway is convenient and relatively safe, imo. Just be vigiliant as usual, typical to any big Europe cities. Be ware of pick pockets. The 10 rides ticket allows pass back so u can share among other travelers. Google it up

Thank you for the video. Very helpful to look for what might look like normal people., but aren't.
Everyone I've spoken to has warned me about these pick-pocket scum.
Keep nothing in your pockets. Don't get distracted by ANYONE. Don't talk to anyone. If someone offers to help you, ignore them. I'll also be wearing a cross-body bag (pacsafe) that will sit in front across my chest.
I've traveled before, but not to Europe. I am vigilant about my surroundings.

no, not at all. I've been twice and all my friends have been too.
As always, you just keep your wits about you.
Spain pickpocketing is nothing compared to some other parts of europe

Pickpocketing is a threat in any major city. Happens all the time in Toronto and Montreal too. If you're suggesting that the Barcelona metro is unsafe because you might get your pocket picked, then by extension all public transit is unsafe.

I was a target of a pickpocket attempt. They are good at diversions so be careful.

Consider a PacSafe handbag for your trip.

Thanks for the tip.
Already have a few Pacsafe bags ready.
A cross-body pack that is worn in front across my chest. A couple of knapsacks. a couple compact messenger bags, RFID wallets.
All the pacsafe bags have the exomesh wires running through them. (hopefully this won't be tested).

I won't be bringing them all. Just what I need.

As always, wherever you travel, I am AWARE of my surroundings.

Actually, I had a PacSafe while in Spain, but should've used it in Paris (didn't bring it on the Paris trip). I felt Barcelona was much safer than Paris.

I stepped onto the train with my wife and all of a sudden a man grabbed at my foot and lower pant and started frantically looking for something. I had no idea what he was doing or saying. While standing there for a few seconds to try and understand what was happening, someone from just behind me attempted to grab my wallet. Luckily for me, I placed it in my front pocket. It all happened so quickly.
