Bathtubs. Why is this so difficult?

I am doing a full bathroom tear down. That means I'll need a new bathtub. It's for an alcove. I know what size I need 60×32×19 or 20.

My GC said this is an important choice. Swapping bathtubs isnt like swapping faucets.

Their are so many choices and the prices don't seem to make any sense you can spend $500 or $2500 and they look the same. Not only that it's hard to find a bathtub showroom. Even then they might have 2 or 3 and not much bathtub product knowledge.

I'm not looking for the cheapest option. Around $1000 seems fair. As in just a little better than Bathdepot.

Any bathtub experience out there?

Look into Mirolin, Kohler, or Sterling Vikrell.

Just don't buy from the big box stores. Find what you want from the manufacturer, find a local distributor and order your tub.
