They should get Andy Serkis to play the Penguin.

I think this is going to suffer from way too many villains. I really hope Jeffrey wright is not Gordon. It should be a white actor. He is a great actor but I'm sick of Hollywood doing this to be politically correct.

Visually, I was struggling with picturing Jonah Hill as Riddler. Not sure I know or remember who Paul Dano is, but from the pic I saw, he looks weaselish enough to be Riddler.

Depends on the story.

If it's like The Long Halloween, I can see why they would cast many villain, as they would only be necessary for a short time.

I actually didn't mind Carey that much.
At least they justified his over the topness through plot (he fried his brain).
Tommy Lee Jones was unbearable, as was Arnold.

This movie has no connection to justice league or the DCU. It's a completely separate universe.

The Justice League team-up movies (a la Avengers) are dead in the water at this point. There will be standalone installments like Wonder Woman 2 and Aquaman 2 but that's it.

I knew Snyder would mess up BvS.
Didn’t affleck write the Boston based robbery heist movie as well? He is a good writer director.

Maybe they should tie it to Bat Week (I think this is the first I've heard of it)

At least that's purportedly educational

It's interesting recent TV keeps butching up Alfred but the movies seem to maintain the more butlery facade (or I'm judging a book by its cover)

I'm thinking some tight scheduling as Serkis was recently hired to direct the Venom sequel

Breaking news!

Unexpected choice to portray the Penguin

GTA (not the game)
Serkis now confirmed as Alfred.
ScreenRant wrote:With Serkis officially joining the cast, The Batman has lined up an impressive cast of stars. Joining Serkis and Pattinson will be Paul Dano as The Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Jim Gordon. Reeves has been lining up top-level talent for the movie, which should give fans hope that The Batman will live up to high expectations.
Another outlet is reporting that Farrell is still in negotiations for the role of Penguin. With so much of Batman's rogues gallery appearing, it'll be interesting to see how Reeves is going to work all these characters into the story.

Batman was created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. Based on characters from DC, “The Batman” is set to open in theaters June 25, 2021 and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Interesting the Riddler starts as Edward Nashton instead of the too cute Nygma; Sarsgaard isn't playing Harvey Dent but maybe he's till playing Two-Face?
