Been tempted by this daily but I think I'll wait another ~year as I really don't need a laptop. The 4th gen X1's should be nearing end of life for enterprise soon and hitting the used market hopefully around or just above this price. They had a huge upgrade in battery life.

they have a 1 year warranty but 45 days for battery and it's for 15 min up-time on battery only. I'd like to buy a refurbished Lenovo thinkpad or X1 but thinking about the battery turns me off.

They are gone anyway but the biggest concern is CPU performance. 8 years ago I bought a mid-range business laptop Vostro V131 for about $600. Cpumark score for it is about 3500 and it had a battery life of about 7 hours when new.
8 years later X1 at a similar price gets CPU with about 3800 cpumark in this laptop and battery life of probably same 7 hours. Would've expected things to be drastically faster lasting longer at same $$$ now.

Got mine, looks perfect with no visible damage or issues. Approximately 10% battery wear. I might peel the screen protector film off in the future but definitely happy with the purchase.

V131: "Components common to every model include a 13.3-inch, 1366 by 768 display,"

Any problems with the battery pack on your Vostro? I've seen a few (looks similar to V131) that had expanding packs. It's like all the chemicals migrated over to one part of the square pack. Cool looking machines, though. Very sleek, but looks aren't everything.

edit// Okay, V131 has a different battery pack than the one I saw. Lucky for you :) . The one I saw was internal, in a square shape.

Mine came with a 6 cell extended battery and didn't have such an issue, but capacity is down to something like 30-35%.

I don't know how these business laptops get such horrible battery life. My old t450s is still over 95% after almost 4 years of use.

I received my order Friday and had a chance to open box today. I haven't installed OS yet, so I can only comment on physical condition. Overall it us in good condition except for the top cover which has gashes/rub area on both left and right edges (down a few layers of plastic) and lots of swirls on it; also keyboard has what looks like white paint splashes on it, not easily removable. Is this within their definition of A grade?

don't know but I don't think so. well, it actually could probably fit but it would be super tight and not a good idea. it's for my son and i just told him to throw his charger into his school backpack. the sleeve is just for the laptop itself.

@Glancealot 2 more have shown up on the sheet. Possibly the returns from the people who complained here. In case you want to try your luck again.

I've been eyeing this laptop for most of my life now and having bought a t420s from bauer many years ago, I thought this was a steal. Even picked up from their location and had the pleasure of meeting Mitch Bauer himself, who was very much a gentleman. Ordered last week and had a feeling of genuine excitement as my main computer is an LGA 775 based piece of Frankenstein trash . After reading about the dissatisfaction that some had experienced with their orders and the consequent returns, I became increasingly paranoid and asked Mohit (presumably the man behind the operation) if he was he going to stick me with those unwanted, returned, computers? He assured me that they wouldn't do that (Mohit was great, prompt and concise as always). After payment, it took two business days to arrive.

When the laptop arrived, via canpar (apparently a terrible shipping company - with whom I had no trouble or concerns). Normally I wouldn't post, but I'm blown away at the condition of the device. 6 hours of battery life, 4K touchscreen.

The only problem is the feeling that I've committed a crime because of the value I received for the money spent.
