I would also be interested to know if that ebay site works out for you.
I recently unlocked a samsung galaxy S2 i9100GT that was tied to virgin at a local shop and it cost me $30.
Everywhere else i looked also wanted $35-$45 (virgin wanted $75 lol).

On sale at BB for $0, you have to pay off the $150 tab. Going rate is about ~$200 on Kjiji so you get a brand new phone for less than that.

This has LTE/removable battery/micro SD and it just got updated to JB for people looking for an alternative to the Nexus 4 deal.

EDIT: Sold out online so you'll have to reserve in store
Was told this is a price error it's really $100 and $150 on tab on silver plan or $0 and $250 on tab on gold plan.

Okay, so I've had the phone for almost a week and I love it. It is fast, the screen resolution is very crisp and vibrant, the camera takes great pictures and although it has 1080p video, I find the 720p to be better since it allows for zooming. Here are some facts and links for anyone that is interested:

Battery Life
I have to admit that this was my greatest concern, given all of the "terrible" battery life comments that I read. HOWEVER, as Mark Twain would have put it: "The Rumors of My battery's Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated." I am extremely happy to say that so far, the battery has been lasting from about 1.5 to 2 days with moderate calling (30-45min/day), texting (10-20/day) and WiFi turned on all the time. This morning I left for work at about 9am with 100% battery and it is now 10pm and the battery level reads 81%. During the course of today, I've spoken for about 20 minutes, sent/received about 15 text messages and picked up my Gmail via WiFi when I left and when I got home. Did I mention that WiFi has been active during the whole day? I have not yet used mobile data since Virgin charges a fortune. My setup is Android 4.1.2 official Samsung, which I upgraded immediately after buying the phone (see below for ROM), and I am only using the built in power saver menu features with all boxes checked.

Unlocking
-> $10 to unlock for those in the GTA. I got mine unlocked by a guy is in Mississauga. He can be reached at 647-923-490 or text 647-707-4946. It took 10 seconds to unlock my phone (literally).
-> $14.99 is you are outside of the GTA, from: http://www.fastgsm.com/en/samsung/galax ... /unlocking

Rooting (Works!)
1. Follow these instructions: http://theunlockr.com/2012/06/24/how-to ... sgh-i757m/
2. HOWEVER, all referenced to "root_sgs2hdbell.zip" replace with "CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip" which you can get <HERE>
