There are a few free courses offered by BCIT. Note that most of them do have an expiry date and the few courses on the bottom have already expired.

Link for all available courses: https://opencoursesstore.d2l.com/

This is one that people might be interested at: COVID-19 Course for Leaders, Educators, Learners and General Public
https://opencoursesstore.d2l.com/produc ... g=covid_19

There is also a different free acute care course for RNs and medical professionals. Topics include foundational acute care such as O2 supply & demand, ABGs, hemodynamics; ECG, non-invasive and invasive ventilation, shock etc. This course doesn't show up on the general courses search page. HCPs please PM me for the link as it seems to have a seat limit so I don't want non-HCPs to use up the quota (because this is RFD lol). I have read through the first module and it's a good review for me. A strong understanding of respiratory and cardiac anatomy and physiology is definitely needed for this course.

On a side note: Harvard has a free Mechanical Ventilation for COVID-19 course

D2L is a learning management system. How exactly is it a scam?

I finished my degree + specialty certificates at BCIT using the D2L system and never had issues. What the hell are you talking about?

Finish a course to find out! And really, a certificate is only a piece of paper. What's important is the knowledge you take away from the course.

Not a scam. I actually know people that work for D2L (Desire to Learn). It's a growing tech company and was sharing their offices with Google here in Kitchener at Communitech.
What is the Communitech Hub?

We think of the Communitech Hub as a clubhouse for tech and innovation. Some companies live here with us full-time; and some drop in. Not all of our 1,400 innovation customers are located here. We’re sort of like a gym: we have lots of members, but only a portion of them are here working out at any given time.

Here at the Tannery, we are co-located with University of Waterloo Velocity, which is an incubator program for startups, most of them led by UW students or alumni. Velocity is Canada’s most productive startup incubator.

The Communitech Hub used to be the Lang Tannery, which was once the largest tannery in the British commonwealth. It’s now a 120,000 square foot innovation centre. We’ve been here since 2010.

This building is home to Communitech, Waterloo Region’s tech organization. We share this space with tech companies like D2L, the University of Waterloo’s Velocity incubator and a few others.

This building has a rich history in the Waterloo Region. The Lang Tannery was built in the 1850’s, making it older than Canada’s Confederation! If you know about the area surrounding us, you’ll know the manufacturing core was a huge part of the economy, and often the leather that was made in this building was directly feeding into those local businesses, being used in everything from shoes, to hockey skates, to saddles and clothes. We like to think that the innovations coming out of this building are still feeding right into that ecosystem.
Not a known scam.
Why can't we all just get along?
