Beam Platinum Series Central Vac keeps turning off

Hello,

I ma wondering is there are any experts when it comes to Central Vac systems. I have the Beam Platinum Series (SC325D) that keep turning off (power). I unplug the power cord and wait about a minute and plug it back in. I see the power light but when I press the button (on the unit) to manually turn it on I get nothing and after about a minute the light on the unit turns off. The only way to get power back is to unplug the cord. The unit does not turn on if I plug the vacuum into the central vac outlet. I have the unit plugged into a power bar and everything else on that power bar is working fine. I tried changing the plugs and nothing.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Try giving the unit a sharp rap with your hand and see if it starts working = worn brushes

Mine is a Beam and had the same problem last year. I replaced the brushes and it works great now. Not very hard to do, the hard part is trying to find the correct brushes for the motor.
