[Bed Bath And Beyond] KitchenAid® Artisan 5 qt. Stand Mixer (45% off - $329.99)

The Kitchenaid thread is blowing up (and rightly so!), sadly I was late to the game and couldn't get the stand mixer in the colour I wanted. Unexpectedly found this.

Very limited stock and colours, but great price nonetheless.

Edit: Also available at this price at Costco, but only in Silver (thanks, @rikeelau):

I doubt anyone is going to be interested in getting this deal after seeing the kitchenaid.ca offer for the refurb model which was going for about $142 after taxes.

The discount of the refurb comes at a price though - 6 months warranty vs 1 year for new. I suppose at that price you could just buy 2 and technically still come out ahead.
I'll leave it up to the individual on what the valuation of those extra 6 months of warranty are worth.

In the mother's day deal thread, some people commented saying that the refurb one came visibly used and dirty. It was never cleaned and just shipped out. I personally would never buy refurb for that reason. It's too risky.

That being said, OP this deal isn't that amazing. If you check the Mother's Day thread (now expired), Kitchenaid was selling the Artisan for $329 + 20% off. I got the Artisan for $288 all in. BBB doesn't allow their 20% to be used on Kitchenaid stand mixers, so the 20% discount won't work on that.

Thanks for the historical context (no really, not being snarky). The Mother's Day price you got is amazing, my bad for not paying attention to that thread.

Good to know what the possible floor on pricing is, will keep an eye out and patiently wait.

No worries, sorry everyone else is so rude. I hate it when you try to be helpful and then everyone just bashes you. You can't know everything that is going on with every thread. Thanks for posting!

BTW, the other deal is dead (2nd 20% off coupon no longer works)

This deal is not bad if you NEED one right now.
No offense but it kinda is. The other deal is half dead, you can still get it at 209.99 - 20% off which is $167 + tax.

That's for the refurbished version. Not everyone wants refurbished; I personally would never buy a refurbished piece of appliance. Please stop assuming everyone is going to value refurbished the same as new, even if you have the opportunity to save money buying used.

Considering you will most likely never use a Kitchenaid mixer within a year, I'm guessing that worth is hovering around zero dollars :D

You do you I guess. Refurbished =/= Used, they have to pass the same inspections as a new unit.

You can say refurbished is valued less but we're talking literally half the price and it's refurbished by the original manufacturer.

Also stand mixers can be repaired rather easily in the vast majority of cases making the risk even lower.

If you read the Kitchenaid Mother's Day thread, refurbished = used. A few users received units that were clearly used, had grease stains on it and had not been cleaned before it was shipped out. They basically received a used unit. Kitchenaid doesn't accept exchanges either so if you received a unit like that, you would have to return and rebuy at potentially what is a higher price. This happened to a friend of mine just today who wasn't able to get an exchange for her artisan mixer and basically had to choose between keeping a shitty unit or returning and waiting for the next sale.

You do you I guess, but comparing the price of a refurbished unit to the price of a new unit is not apples to apples.

Ok, I went through it. It seems you decided to nit pick *one* comment out of numerous other reviews that mentioned it arriving like new. The only negative comment (notice singular) that I found in that thread was ironically from you. Even the poster you mentioned said " I don’t mind it, it works great."

You're right, not everyone is interested in saving $200 purchasing a refurbished product with a history of good reviews but I can guarantee you (and it should be already evident) that most would and should. Objectively this isn't a good deal. If people want to buy it then that's their decision, but they should know that this product has consistently gone cheaper and there is a much more attractive deal on a refurbished variant.

This would be a better deal given Costco's satisfaction guaranteed return policy.
Only one colour, though. Only in Grey.
Thanks for pointing this out, have added the link to the original post.
