Is Beetle Convertible really a "Chick car"?

Wife said it's a old man's car.

Friends said it's a "Chick car".

Coming from a "mid-aged man" car Toyota Camry, I want change.

I think the Beetle Convertible Classic is adorable. Is it not?

I was considering a black with black top, figuring that was as manly as you can get but I kept hearing the same thing. I never even took it for a test drive, I guess the peer pressure got to me.
