Is this restricted only to the Wemo Netcam? If so, title is misleading. I don't see mentioning of Light switch, plug, etc.

Nope, only if it's still under warranty do you get a refund. Otherwise, its a brick.

That's sad. One of the reasons I stay away from hardware locked to web/subscription-based services. Can't trust the vendor to unlock those devices to work standalone when they are done.

Well not full brick, half a brick. Local connections still work. No details tho. Does it mean only via the app? Or thru another app?
If thru the app then when would the app get updated to turn the camera to a full brick.
