bell hub 3000 with wifi 6ax or wifi 5ac card

i have a acus r500a about 12 year old laptop and up graded the harddrive to ssd installed 16gb ddr3 ram and
upgraded the cpu
and i have either a wifi 6 ax card or wifi 5 ac card and my internet is bell 1ghz with bell hub 3000
hardwired ethernet im getting full speed about 1ghz and using wifi 6 5gz i get about 100mbs and no more and
when its on n it gets 50mbs
if i swap the wifi card with wifi 5 ac on 5gz i get about 200mbs
on the wifi 6 card my setting are
network band-5gz, network channel is 153, link speed is recieve/transmit 130/57 mbs
does recieve mean from bell 3000 modem and transmit is my wifi card transmitting
why cant it increase is it cause of the modem or do i need on top a wifi router
and mess around with the channels

ahh... can you format this better?

Is your Bell modem setup to use 80/160MHz bands?

What's your connection strength like? 5G doesn't do well with walls

Not trying to be an ass, but 80/160 Mhz are bandwith not bands.

Also he said he is using channel 153, wich is a 20 MHz channel.

Channel 153 is a narrow 20 MHz channel. Try using a wider channel like 155 (80 MHz). It will, theory, quadriple you speed.

Don't expect to go higher than 500 Mbs. To do so, you would need to have more than 3 antennas inside you laptop, you probably have only 2.

Try googling the model number of the modem and you will find details.
