thanks to OP for this info. I called today and was also able to get the discount. Basic tel line $9.95 no features or LD plan. The agent was also nice enough to review my other services and give me discounts on them too($19 disc off Basic Digital TV w/ Chinese combo, $11 disc off Fibe 6 Internet w/ 40GB usage insurance) . In the end I am saving $42/mo after taxes. :D

Thanks OP. All I had to do was ask if there were any discounts and the lovely CSR I spoke with instantly offered this promo and applied it to my account.
I don't have any other features or bundles other than home phone and was able to get the $18 credit :)

Thnx OP. Finally got around to calling earlier today.. The extra $2 price hike was enough to finally get me to call.... :)
Well, I called, they answered right away..Got a friendly gentlemen, who I explained to him that the extra hike just pushed me over limit, and if they couldn't do anything regarding the price, that I would be forced to switch to some VOIP provider to get a cheaper rate... I also mentioned that some people I know, were getting $18/month discounts, and I wanted the same...

He quickly mentioned that this morning, the $18 discount I mention, had just expired. Apparently Mondays is when all the promo's change.. Anyhow, I'm not sure I believed that typical marketting stuff, but he kindly said he would go check what he could get.. Put me on hold for 2 or 3 minutes, he came back and offered me $15/month discount for the next 12 months without any hassle. And even mentioned to make sure to call back before the 12months are up to see what new promotion they have in a year :)

Hey 5 minute phone call, and $15/month discount is pretty decent...
Basic Residential phone line (in QC), with Visual Call waiting (call waiting+callerID), before discount (including new price hike): $41.58/month+tx.. After discount: $26.58+tx...

Thnx again OP.
I just called (also in Quebec), I immediately got offered $24.95+tax for the land line with visual call waiting. A saving of $15.50/m. Thanks OP and everyone else!

Not so easy there Ma…
Why are some people getting $13.95 and others $9.95 per month? And are these on a one year contract or contract free?

13.95 is for the people with only land line service. You can get 9.95 for land line if you have other services as well (from what I remember but im pretty sure thats what it is)

What # did you call? do you have ant features ie call waiting/display?
I called 1-800-889-4672 (Loyalty) and I have Home Phone Lite so only calling. No waiting / display but it's not needed for my family.

Thanks OP, called the Loyalty number in this thread, I know have Basic landline (no features) for $9.95/mth ($13.95/mth minus my $4/mth bundle promo).

For those constantly commenting on "Who still has a landline anyway?!" you will learn that it still beneficial to have one when you have small children, and you are required to send faxes. For $10/mth no complaints here.

Thanks

I shouldn't have accepted but I did, I'm in quebec, I only have a land line, the total choice one with call answer, visual call display, etc and all I got was $12.50 off for 6 months.

Free Internet & Free Best TV for a year? What kind of internet do you have? I only got the Fibe Best TV free for 3 months. I got the Bell Internet 15/10 (325gb) for 43.95/month and Bell Better TV at $59.95/month (after the free 3 months). My Bell home phone is $9.95/month. Total of $113.85 per month for the Bell Bundle.
