Been waiting on the kettlebell restock. Doesn’t look like it’s happening any time soon.

Have 3 of their kettlebells - 24kg pro, 32kg & 40kg in regular black powder coated. The reg powder coated versions have been perfect & after 2-3yrs usage, they're still in like new condition.

The 24kg pro version however does not have my recommendation. The green paint have been flaking off & while it does not change its usage, the flaked off paint attaches to my forearm regularly. I don't know if its the same for other brands, but these pro KBs does not have the same quality as the cheaper black powder coat versions.

Other than that, I've had no other issues & KBs have been the basis of my strength & cardio conditioning for the past few years saving me thousands in gym fees, not to mention the time wasted in driving. Now I can work out in the living room watching tv & afterwards, park the KBs in a small corner in the closet.

I didn't get the email that the remaining stock is available however I did manage to get a rack yesterday. It was next to impossible to place an order the day before through their gym builder and gave up as I didn't want a barbell or bench. Everything is pretty much is all gone now as of yesterday.

I am disappointed they are now charging shipping and was surprised at check out to see this. It wasn't prominently displayed on their website and was one of the things that set them apart from others. It's still free shipping on US site, however.

Shucks I’ve been waiting through this whole pandemic to buy a good quality bench and now everyone is implying bellsofsteel isn’t a good pick. In haste I made the purchase before it was sold out and now people are saying there is better?! Tired Face

My only complaint with the FID bench is that it can be quite loud when adjusting the angle. Just don't let the metal bang and you're golden

I bought a rack, incline bench, bar and bar collars from these guys a few years ago. Not sure I'd by from them again.

The bar is great. The collars broke after about 6 months of use.

Bench has a lot of movement to it. It's alright but doesn't really "feel solid". The yellow paint does not match the yellow rack whatsoever. Not a big deal but they look a little silly next to each other. The riveted nameplate was also crooked and bent. I tore it off because it looked awful.

The rack is ok. Some of the welds on the pull up bar are hilarious. Like a 1/2" off. One of the support plates for the bottom of the rack wasn't drilled out for the bolts. I had to use the other plate as a template and drill the steel myself.

So basically their quality control is absolute garbage. I'm aware that it all comes from China but you'd think they'd spot some of this stuff before offloading it to their customers in Canada. I'm not confident they even look at it before swapping the labels and shipping it back out.

**Edit***

Also, don't be fooled by their 5 star reviews on their site. They delete the negative ones. I know that from experience.

That's pretty disappointing... I was just on their site again and the bench is OOS.. So it looks like it's still popular..? or the pandemic mode is still ongoing..

The bench that I have is several years old. They no longer sell the same design. I can't speak to the quality of their current stuff but I certainly hope it's better than it used to be.

Bought a garage gym set earlier this year from them.
Bench still has the loud metal on metal noise when shifting angles and a weird perfume-like smell from the padding that is still there though not as strong. Collars are pretty crappy (skip it and get ones off amazon which is what I ended up doing). Rack flakes pretty easily. Barbell came a bit scratched and possibly a spot of rust. So in general quality control could be a lot better.

The northern lights cross box is more expensive but it has standard dimensions so you can easily find third party attachments (J-hooks, dip attachment, etc...) whereas Bells of steel you need to buy from them (shipping costs for small stuff) since the dimensions are not standard.

Would I buy again from them? Maybe certain things like barbell and weights. The superficial quality control stuff doesn’t bother me too much since the gym and equipment gets banged up anyways. Otherwise if you care about non-flakiness, eventually want to expand the gym and have a bit more money to spend, look elsewhere.
