Bent the USB port on my Kobo Arc tablet - Worth fixing?

Was charging my Kobo Arc tablet with the included wall charger. I clumsily bumped it and it tumbled to the floor, with the full weight of the tablet falling on the charging prong.

Prong is bent and nearly broken off, like a loose tooth hanging in the gums of a 6-year old. Fine, I have other chargers. But the tablet itself no longer connects well for charging. It takes a bit of wiggling and propping the charging prong slightly upwards to make it "connect".

Worth repairing myself (I'm not very handy) or sending for repair? Keep in mind I paid a paltry $100 for this tablet in early 2014 and I use it very infrequently. It's not like it's an expensive iPad or phone that I use daily.

Thanks in advance.

If it's just the prong and the connector's contacts at the motherboard are intact, it's just a matter of replacing the USB connector (desolder/solder). It could be a DIY project if you have the tools for doing so (and the spare part) and if the shell/case is not glued (sometimes they need heating to soften the glue). Otherwise a phone repair shop should not charge much for fixing it. If it's an Arc 10HD and you happen to open it, it'd be interesting to know whether the memory is soldered or a simple uSD/SD card as in the Kobo ereaders. ;) gl

Edit:

Found two good demos. One with a hot air station (neat) and another one using only an iron (usual DIY).

any of the 15+ shops over at pacific mall will give you a free estimate to fix this. It's a fairly common issue.
