There is no best for $600, but decent !

55" = TCL 4 Series 55S425 at Best Buy or 55S423 at Costco for @$453.00
65" = TCL 4 Series 65S425 at Best Buy or 65S423 at Costco for @$643.00

If you can go $50 higher, Best Buy has the TCL 6-Series 55" for $649.99
I have it and think it's a great value for the size.

I find it excellent for both and it has a gaming mode for input lag as well.
IMO you would have to spend a lot more to get something that is noticeably better.

The only negative are the built in speakers... as with any flat panel. I plan on adding a soundbar in the near future.
