Best bang for the buck phone under $250-$300

I'm looking for a new smartphone but I been out of the smartphone news for some time now.

For all you phone experts, what would be the best bang for the buck smartphone for under $250-$300 (NEW)?

I do prefer iphone as I'm coming from an iPhone XR but I'm open to trying out a good android phone

If you prefer an iPhone, then have you looked into the iPhone? I think it will be perfect for you.

Lol, you can't find a new iPhone for under $300.... try double to quadruple that.... that's how much an new iPhone costs.

As for options slightly over or under $300, you could get the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G, or the TCL 30 XE 5G.
Public Mobile 5GB $29
Samsung Galaxy A53 owner.

You won't even find a good android phone for $300. This is the price for a budget android phone. For a good new android phone, try tripling your budget.

Nothing. I searched and searched and searched a few months ago. Samsung A13 is very low-end... Strangely enough we cannot have the A33 in Canada or it would have been perfect. The only first choice for a decent phone is the Samsung A53, 458$ at costco. The A53 has 5 years Android updates guaranteed.

I'm cheap, so I bought a PoCo F3 on AliExpress, best bang for the buck at the time, lot of good chinese phones if you want to go this way.

If you buy second hand
Pixel 4a is a solid phone

I had it as a back up phone after my wife stopped using it after a few months ( she needed Square picture mode and it doesn't have that option )
I needed wifi calling and my main phone didn't have that option so I used the 4a for a bit, thinking I would buy another phone
But I'll keep this pixel 4a as it's a solid mid range phone

Just wish it had a longer lasting battery

In that price range look at Motorola phones. Very solid models. just don't expect pictures like theyare from an iPhone.

I recommend the iPhone Pro line. If you have larger hand, Pro Max would be worth it.

Don't let price dictate your purchase preference. The gain and loss of money is temporarily. You will always make more money and vice versa, you will always spend more money.

People uses their phones more than their mattress. If we can spend upwards of $10,000 for a quality sleep set, then it should be considered a discount that we can get a iPhone Pro model for one fifth the price.

Is this serious? Are you really trying to decide for someone else how much they should spend money on things? Just because one will always make more money doesn't mean one should spend it. What if one wants to spend the extra money saved on a cheaper phone on something else? It's not like one can spend endlessly just because there's opportunity to make more. Almost everyone has some limit.

A53 price at costco.ca is now showing as $427.99. It's the 128GB model.
