Best Budget Phone Available

Currently have an Asus Zenfone 3 which is a decent phone, but it looks like it is time to be replaced. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but for the right specs/price, open to spending more. Looking at max about $500

Currently I am with Virgin Mobile, but it needs to be able to handle any frequency in Canada. Although Freedom is unlikely in the immediate future, it's possible as well that I might go with them too. So I would like to get that frequency as well if possible
