Pretty sure all the 2018s Pros have at least 4GB ram. The best deal here is for the LTE models - as long as you actually use it.Mlj223 wrote: ↑ It’s $979 for the new iPad Pro wifi only. You get 6gb of ram and 128gb storage. You also get AirPods.
$799 for the older model with LTE. you get half the storage at 64gn and 2 GB RAM. You also get a screen protector and case which you can return for around $80 or keep and not have to buy yourself.
I think it’s a really good deal as long as you know what you are getting. For what I do I wouldn’t notice a RAM difference and the strong majority of my storage is cloud based. Having LTE on the iPad is awesome.
[Best Buy] 3rd Gen IPad Pro 11"/12.9", Folio case and screen protector again!

Oh really? All the youtube videos I was watching were praising the 2020 model because they can finally use the mouse, unlike this 2018 model.
I have a logitech M270, you're saying I can use this on the 2018 model?

How does Best Buy Return Policy work? Can you return it even if it's been opened and used?me_too_lazy wrote: ↑ ordered the 12.9" 1tb wifi lte last time and returned it. Couldn't justify $1500 after tax.
This time... ordered the 11" 1tb wifi lte... maybe I can justify $1300 after tax lol
Will try and return the case and screen protector.

Τhe problem with the back to school deal is having a university email account. Many such as myself, have long been out of school.ShingoHusky wrote: ↑ The 2020 iPad Pro all come with 6gb, with the back to school deal you can get the 11” for 949 and a free pair of air pods

Never tried the M270 but see no reason why it won't work. Works with my MX Master 2S and MX Anywhere 2S, even works with the trackpad on my K830 keyboard. Pretty sure it's because of iOS 13 and has nothing to do with hardware.miltpalicio wrote: ↑ Oh really? You don't need a university e-mail account. Just click "Shop For University" on Apple's website at the bottom. Should always buy online rather than in store (even if you wanna in store pick up) so you can get the Aeroplan estore or airmiles bonus as well.blindemboss wrote: ↑ Τhe problem with the back to school deal is having a university email account. I am undecided on this deal.
I currently have a 32GB 2017 iPad which is quite slow, and 32GB is infuriatingly small.
I've been on the market for a 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 but can't really find a good deal right now (am looking to spend $500ish).
This 2018 11" is enticing at $799 for the LTE model (which should hold its resale value well), but I'm still worried that 64GB isn't much. I hate that the 256GB one is $200 more!!

If you’re going for the lowest model, the BestBuy deal isn’t really that great. Better off getting the 2020 from Apple. The base wifi model is 128gb, and you can sell the EarPods for around 200.cursayer wrote: ↑ I am undecided on this deal.

I hear you. Most of my storage is on the cloud and with USB C it will be pretty easy to use external storage. In my opinion, this is the least cash spend you’re going to have for an iPad. Having LTE is a huge bonus for resale, and is an awesome feature if you can use it. I spent all day yesterday deciding and ended up pulling the trigger.cursayer wrote: ↑ I am undecided on this deal.

Does Apple not check or follow up? Or do they pretty much look the other way knowing people do this.

Nope, they've never checked as far as I've known.blindemboss wrote: ↑ Does Apple not check or follow up? Or do they pretty much look the other way knowing people do this.
RFD is not just about saving money, it's about the thrill of the hunt and getting the stuff I want without paying full price like Joe Shmoe did.
This applies to everyday items as well as high end items that I don't really need.

If I sell the AIrPods for $200, that's still $849 for only the Wifi model. In the long run, the Best Buy deal $799 for the LTE 64GB model is better. Also if I'm able to return the folio and screen protector, that makes it $712 for that.

I’m curious how well tethering an iPad to your cell phone works. If you only use LTE occasionally, it may suffice?vader_slri wrote: ↑ Depends if you value LTE. If not, agree the 2020 base may be a better deal.

The student discount price is $979 for the base model ipad pro 11 2020, including the airpods.
It ends up being about the same price.
If you go with the 2018, you get the LTE version.
If you go with the 2020, you don't get the LTE but you get twice the storage, 2 extra gb of RAM, and the extra camera and LiDAR sensor.
At this point it only depends on what is the most important to you.

Definitely. I went with the 12.9 LTE the first time this deal came around, and I enjoy not having to use my phone battery as well, and having the option of just carrying the iPad around without my phone, but for occasional users, I don’t think the LTE is worth the extra ~$180. It’s only because the LTE feature is essentially free on the 1TB that I went for it, and might be able to recover $50 in resale when I’m done a few years down the road.blindemboss wrote: ↑ I’m curious how well tethering an iPad to your cell phone works. For bottom end models, I think double the storage, wi-if 6, LIDAR and 2GB extra RAM is worth more than the LTE alone. In a year or two (if not now), the 64GB will feel as atrocious as the 32GB.
