Clearly, this monitor is not for you.
For a 1ms 144hz 24" monitor, this is a decent price.

The closest competitors currently are the BenQ XL2411Z @ ~$320, and the Asus VG248QE @ ~$340. These go down to ~$290 and $250 respectively when they go on sale.

FYI, 144 fps will only be available over DVI-D.

Not bad deal but reviews are mixed. I have payed that price for the asus 24in 144hz.

don't you need a good video card to actually see the 144hz?

Yes, but the threshold of "good" has lowered significantly. 1080p also makes it easier on low-upper spec cards.

i have this monitor, only real flaw is that it has a glossy plastic bezel which is kinda annoying as it reflects light (especially white light) from the edge of the screen and also keyboard lights

Great price if you're trying to get into 144hz, if you have a PC capable of playing your game at 144hz on medium or high settings at least then this will be worth it. I do feel like it gives you a slight advantage on online FPS or smoothness on any other game.
BEWARE though, once you go 144hz, playing in a non 144hz or at 60fps will feel weird, it's just not as smooth. Just like that "once you go black..." saying Face With Tears Of Joy

Is it worth it to upgrade from 60hz? is it a big jump? I have a 970 so i'll be able to run stuff at 144

In my opinion yes it is a worthy upgrade for anyone who games. After getting 144hz you'll be wondering how you didn't see how choppy 60hz is

I'd say if you don't care for 1440p, 144hz is the way to go. Not only is the smooth refresh rate noticeable in games, it's much smoother and enjoyable simply browsing the Internet.
