If you already have a desktop, it's a nice cheap laptop to use as a RDP thin client to get around the house or even outside.

Just got mine home there was one on display for 349 with the exact same specs but a different sku. Seems like they're not displaying the 249 price in store but there were 15 in stock. Downtown Vancouver

Will be opening it up in a few minutes. Stay tuned.

Maybe they forgot to update their price tag. I took a pic yesterday when I bought mine.

Great news there is a ram slot! This upgraded to 8gb ram is flaming hot hot hot and happens to be one of the very few things I bought on here that I actually needed. Thanks OP!

Unfortunately no way to upgrade the SSD. You can see where the higher end model would have the m.2 slot.
64gb is fine for my grandparents and my parents are on my OneDrive family plan so no need for storage.

Hey thanks for taking the time... just to be 100% certain though... did you remove the battery and check? The similar model looked as though a traditional sata3 SSD would go under the battery... if available.

Agree, this is a pretty good purchase! And thanks for opening up the laptop to confirm the two RAM slot! Max seems like 8GB RAM.

I did not, maybe there is still hope. I am going to grab some ram and take this to my parents place to set it up. I will check once I crack it open again.

p.s. good luck on your Ph.D.!
Thanks!

You have Linux (crostini)! And web apps as usual for Chrome.

Seems perfect for my use case. Good machine for remote learning for the kid, also can use it for my work (web-based)..no fans means silence :) . There should be enough space to install photo-editing application and office. Hard drive being the bummer, totally going for cloud storage. The same cloud account on the desktop means I can use any machine and always have access to my files.

Too bad for the eMMC

This will massively cripple the performance.

I don't like the screen. It's quite dim and the viewing angles suck. Definitely not ips or anything high end.

Checked under the battery, no hidden sata connectors.
