[Best Buy] Acer Gaming PC (Intel Ci7-9700K/NVIDIA RTX 2080) $1899

*Warm Deal* if someone is looking for a high spec gaming pc. Key highlights are Nvidia RTX 2080 and i7 9700K.
16 GB RAM
256 SSD
1 TB HDD
RTX 2080
Core i7 9700K
Built in Wifi

On Acer's website it's still $2,899.

Not sure about Acer's reliability.

I don't like prebuilt systems but this is a pretty good deal considering just the video card and CPU would add up to a similar price.

I agree with you. Tried to spec something similar on pcpartpicker but nothing will fall in this price bracket with this graphic card and processor. Plus component prices are sky rocketing these days.

In other news, this came to my recent memory. I returned it last year and now I’m tempted by the Acer with i7 and 2080. What do you guys think? Is this Acer a better deal when compared to the Dell last year?

May I know why you returned the Alienware? I saw that deal and REALLY wanted to purchase from Costco but they didn't deliver to Quebec Crying Face  .

Do these use standard size components? Can you replace components / put in a new case?

I bought one as it was showing only 5 left on the Best Buy app. Was waiting for the Asus one to be back in stock but I feel this is the better value and the Asus went back up in price for $1999. I feel Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi support, i7 9700K and RTX 2080 is really worth it.

Asus Ryzen 3700X and RTX 2070 Super

Funny how best buy bumped up the price of the Asus Tuf 4800H laptop from $1299 to $1399

What motherboard and RAM are those? Looks horrible.

Not a bad price for the convenience of prebuilt.

If you intend on upgrading it, first thing you'd want to do is get that stock cooler changed on the CPU. Can't imagine you'd get full performance with that kind of heat.

My apologies. It broke my heart too. I actually don’t game and I just buy cheap games on fanatical and redeem free epic games and buy the odd humble bundle, not to mention free twitch prime games. I’m just itching to find a reason to replace a GTX 1070 with i7 2600K on a motherboard that I can’t OC the CPU on (woops). Just messing around. Never serious because I don’t need it!

That motherboard looks scuffed. I'm just gonna wait for the rtx 3000 series to drop and pair that with the new i9

The whole setup looks cheap from the picture (that may not be the truth though). Also all 4 ram slots are taken up for 16GB, upgrading would mean selling all existing ram first. Very cheap looking 500W power supply with a 2080 Card doesn't fill me up with confidence. I know I'd want to upgrade the storage right away and I'm not sure how much room and opportunity exists for that.

I so badly wanted this to be a good deal!

I personally would not be buying a gaming desktop right now, ryzen refresh coming in June, ryzen 4000 series CPUs coming in sept/oct with brand new architecture, and Nvidia (ampere) and AMD both releasing new generation of cards in sept/oct as well. Even if you don’t go with any of this, worst case scenario is prices will come down on existing products.

Also, it is sunny out. Good time to be selling if you don't play much in the summer.

This is what you get with prebuilt systems, no fancy retail motherboards and RGB everything. This is a pretty good deal, but you don't get the fancy stuff you get if you build it yourself with these things unless you pay Alienware money.
