[Best Buy] ASUS TUF 17.3" Gaming Laptop, Ryzen 7 4800H/1TB SSD/16GB RAM/GTX 1660Ti, $1299.99

Decent sale for this at $200 off this week.

- AMD Ryzen 7 4800H
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB GDDR6
- 17.3” 120Hz Full HD (1920x1080) IPS-Type display
- 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD
- 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM
- Windows 10 Home
- 90WHr battery
- MIL-STD-810H military standard construction
- RGB backlit English keyboard

I'll never get why they think the hideous yellow theme in the pics is a good idea.

Quick notes, this is pretty much just a bigger Tuf A15 with only a few differences.

Has AdaptiveSync/FreeSync support.

The display panel is probably the BOE NV173FHM-NX1. While 120Hz the sRGB coverage is just as poor as the Panda display in the A15, with sRGB coverage of ~62%. The response times are slightly better at around 11ms GtG averages.

Great price for the specs, but appears to be sold out already.

Why is this so good? Shouldn’t the video card be better to justify price?

Its pretty much the going sale price for a machine with a 1660TI. Could be inflated by laptop demand during covid.

RTX2060's are going for an extra $200-300 on top of this.

Better video card than this is the 2060 and there is no 2060 at this price with anything similar in specs. You could get a R5 with less memory or storage for less but not a R7 or i7 specially in a 17 inch.

Does this model have 2 m.2 2280 slots and no 2.5" bay?

Correct, it has 2 m.2 slots but no 2.5" bay due to the 90Whr battery.

got a lower spec model with rx560 last year, honestly it's not worth it to buy anything more expensive than 1k unless you are opting for the more expensive model

Missed this on best buy. But checked amazon for shits and giggles around 6p and there was 7 left. After checking out the specs a bit further for about 10 minutes 2 sold so I bought 1 and 20 minutes later they down were down to 2. I bought for video editing on th go mostly, not looking for a picture perfect screen. If I must, I can always hook up a second display while at home. I think the specs for the price will be hard to beat.
